Mac 222 Parked at home - stern support?
I'd like to build some kind of support / base to go under the stern of the boat, while on trailer at home. So that the boat is stable to walk on while doing home maintenance, etc. Right now with battery out, it is very lightly balanced, it only takes light push on the transom to make the boat tilt. I'd rather not be limited to only working on when mounted to tow vehicle hitch for stability. Does this make sense? Any suggestions?

Actually, it doesn't make sense. You should have about 10% of the trailer gross weight on the hitch ball when towing, and that's enough to climb the boarding ladder on the stern without unloading the landing gear on the tongue.
Unless you shift a lot of stuff to the stern when it's in storage in the driveway, or otherwise need to handle extra weight in the stern, in which case use a cheap pair of jackstands (Harbor Freight, on sale). Put wood or concrete pavers under them so they don't sink into the pavement (I put 16" square pavers under the tires, too, but that's a different topic). Or if you have scrap wood laying around, make your own, which don't even have to be adjustable - they're not holding up the boat; they're just snubbing the extra load applied when you climb onto it, which isn't very much. Heck, a concrete block or two on wood is all you need, really.

I put a jack stand under the rear trailer frame and raise the tongue jack up to load the rear stand slightly. Then, I slip another jack stand under the tongue and unload the tongue jack. That way, if 5-6 folks climb into the boat, I don't have to cry on public.

Here ya go. $18 for the pair, with Super Coupon until 10/2.

But a cement block or two, or a stack of wood, will do the same thing since you only need to snub the little bit of extra force that's causing it to do a wheelie.
I had the same problem with my Aquarius. If I climbed on and moved smartly, it would lift the jack slightly but sit back down. If I sat on the stern, or if more than one person was in the cockpit, it would wheelie. And it towed lousy. Not enough vertical load on the hitch ball, I'm sure.

My buddy has a 22, same thing, Leaves and rain is enough to tip it back if there is not a support underneath. He nailed together some scrap wood to make a sawhorse to fit underneath.

It sounds like there might be a need to move the boat forward on the trailer a bit.

My old V22 would end up tipping when the cockpit drain clogged (leaves) and the rain filled it up. Likewise, we had to use a jack stand under the transom to work on/occupy the boat when it wasn't hooked to a vehicle. We don't have to worry about that with the
but I still use a jack stand at the stern when I'm going to be working on it (or when three or four neighbors climb aboard for driveway happy hour!
)
