The M is 34'?" overall on the trailer which limits the MH to 26' in some eastern states and 30' in most states west of the Miss. River. https://www.goodsamcamping.com/plan/SizeLimits.aspx

I spent some time reviewing legal overall length limits and gross combined weight for MH's. 29-30' 'A' or 'C' class E450 chassis seems like the sweat spot. 'B' class vans are also a viable choice. Small C class like the Mercedes C's have limited gross weight. IIRC is the Winnebago Mercedes C actual available cargo weight is approx 1,400lbs. Hitch weight, passengers, food, clothing, propane, water, and anything else you pack is summed for gross vehicle weight. Once you sum these you are essentially at or over weight. Not until you get to the 29-30' C E450 or A class do you gain some headroom in the 2,000-2,500lbs range.

Thanks for the reply guys.

We live in Australia, the Roads and Maritime technical document "vsi-62-transporting-yachts-on-trailers" states a maximum length of tow vehicle and trailer combined is 19 Metres thats a bit over 62ft, weighing in at 4.5 tons.

As we are looking at getting a 23ft GMC Motorhome, that would be 57ft combined tow length, my initial post was to look for information from anyone on the forum that might have a GMC motorhome and see if they had any problems, if so how did they get around them.

Old thread. His last post was in 2018, and last visit was last fall. I wonder what ever happened with the GMC motor home, which is sweet by the way. Front wheel drive, though, with tandem rear axles. Probably not the best choice for towing. Lotsa discussion of them on RV forums.

But they’re still sweet RV’s. Way ahead of their time, IMO. 8)
