Why? Because the combined weight of my Mercury and myself is 500#'s and the has a flat transom and I forgot to install the wedges to compensate for the flat transom Figured this all out this morning when I went out to adjust the motor on the jackplate. Highlander - Did you set your cav plate even with the hull pad? Mine looks like it's about 3.5" higher. (10" offset plate)

Since the wife and her mother took the tow vehicle camping I cant do any work on Dukling today. Well, I guess I could go do the gelcoat work on the hatch I rebuilt.

Add some doel fins to your motor. I had the same problem on my and these helped tremendously.

Yes, Doel fins make a big difference, also weight distribution is key. I moved my battery to the bow storage, when not planning on sleeping aboard, everything
goes up to the bow berth, extra clothes, totes with misc., cooler with misc. LOL. All Macgregors suffer from the same thing all the weight is in the stern engine, fuel and crew.
