Re: COVID-19 just got real
Sorry about that Dave,
But my wife and I have been self quarantined for the last four days.
On Sunday the 8th of March, we were at an indoor carnival for three hours (opening to closing). Last Wednesday we found out that someone in the room later exhibited signs of the Corona Virus, and went and got tested. Since we were there, are well over 60 years old, and the test results won’t be back until Monday or Tuesday, we have been self quarantined. We will be told what the test results are when completed. Oh what a world we live in.
At best, we will have been responsibly over cautious; at worst, we took the proper precautions, have one week down, and only have one more week to go.
So Dave, trust me, it could be worse than a launch day, covid-19 mention.
Ray
This is an addendum. I just saw this.
“This pandemic risks bringing out the worst in humanity
London (CNN) - A woman at an Australian supermarket allegedly pulls a knife on a man in a confrontation over toilet paper. A Singaporean student of Chinese ethnicity is beaten up on the streets of London and left with a fractured face. Protesters on the Indian Ocean island of Reunion welcome cruise passengers by hurling abuse and rocks at them.
Never mind that Australia's toilet paper supply is plentiful, that the Singaporean has no links to the virus and that not a single passenger on the Princess cruise ship that docked in Reunion was infected.
Irrational and selfish incidents like these are likely the exception, not the rule, but an everyone-for-themselves mentality -- or each family, even each country -- appears to be growing, putting into question the world's ability to unite and slow the coronavirus' spread.”

Re: COVID-19 just got real
We are also self-quarantining, Ray, but then you and we live in the nastiest hotspot of infection. We are still getting out, though - to the Robbins nature park, on drives in our sports cars, etc., and I’m getting a lot of things done around the house and garage. So, it’s all good. We all just need to be responsible, keep our distance and wash & sanitize regularly. It’s our son we worry about most - he’s an EMT in St. Mary’s Hospital’s trauma center in Langhorne. We talk to him by phone and he’s OK for now, but I imagine he will become exposed at some point, if not already.
Good luck and good health to all!
Good luck and good health to all!

Amen.
I read somewhere, "This is a good reason to have a boat. It's easier to quarantine yourself."

Prayers for your son's health. He's on the front lines and so valuable in his position.

Thanks, Russ. Yeah, he's definitely in the line of fire. We keep praying, too.

Re: COVID-19 just got real
I just found out today that my Nephew was activated. He is a member of the Colorado Army National Guard and will be doing front line testing. I will keep him and your son and everyone elses family in my thoughts.

Re: COVID-19 just got real
I am going to stay home because I don't want to get any of your kids sick that are giving tests and taking care of patients. I have a millennial living here in the house so I get exposed every day to all the kids parties and bar nights so I am going to make sure I don't infect any of your relatives by not leaving the house. I am having Amazon deliver all kinds of stuff and I am going to do MODS! Anyone want to see pictures?

Would love to see some mods. I've got projects lined up. New anodes, new hull cleaners, fuel filter, impeller, gear oil..... but the temps have been in the teens and the boat is in the shed. Waiting for warmer weather.

As if Puerto Rico didn’t have enough problems.

Re: COVID-19 just got real
I'm wondering what folks are thinking about this coming boating season. Are marinas operating in your area? How about fuel docks? Anyone moving forward with plans for major trips? Covid 19 seems to be a real wild card. What strange times.
