II have a 1999 26x. The jib furler is very tight...I have to put the furler line on the winch to roll it in.
Any ideas on where to start looking for issues?

Try a slightly thinner line. It may just be that your line is jammed in the spool. A good indicator is if the it gets easier when some line is let out; a few feet. I had the exact same problem a few years ago.

Re: CDI Furler very tight.
Is your forestay tight? If your forestay is loose, it can cause binding. If your Furler deflects the forestay when you try furling, that could be an issue.
Check the fasteners in the Furler.
Does the furling line fairlead bring the furling line into the drum in the center and at a 90 degree angle to the drum? It should.
Were you pointing into the wind or were you trying to furl it loaded?
Is there a stop knot in the furling drum that is jamming the line? Have someone go forward and watch while someone tries to furl. You may be able to spot the problem if you can see it working.
Try furling it by hand the next time you're out. That will give you another data point.

Re: CDI Furler very tight.
Thanks for the suggestions....
yes...my forestay was loose....boat was sitting on the trailer...I usually tighten it up by pulling in the backstay.
I guess if it sat like that for awhile the foil may develop a curve and make it hard to rotate.
I will check that to start with.
I just installed a new jib and really hauled down on the halyard, I did read if it is too tight can cause a problem furling
Maybe a combination of both.
I'll try that before I start pulling the furler apart, although given the condition of the boat when I got it, it probably has not had a clean for quite awhile.
Thanks
Ian

Re: CDI Furler very tight.
It's not really foil curvature. It's more of the drum/foil binding due to deflection of the forestay when you pull on the furling line. Tightening the backstay is a good idea, to see if it improves.Ozphotog wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 6:24 pm Thanks for the suggestions....
