Tropical Storm/ Hurricane Fiona almost here (Puerto Rico) went Thursday to get ready. It is on the southwest corner of the island. Just where the storm is heading
There is a camera at the house so I can check in and see whats up as long as the internet works.
Stay safe and let us know how you are doing after the storm passes.
I know it's too late to do anything now, but one of the things I've always done to prepare for a bad storm is "sink" my boat on the trailer. Filling the bilge on a traditional power boat or filling the ballast tank on one of ours makes the boat much less likely to blow off the trailer in a bad storm.

Still just a constant light rain at my place. Little wind. No electricity don't expect it back until late Monday or Tuesday. Watching the news some flooding and trees down.
Yes; Bill
I should have put some water in the ballast my thinking was its only a tropical storm. Better to prepare for the worst.
Especially since its a 2 hour drive to the boat and any change it's too late to go back and do more.
I live in the San Juan area and the Mac is about 100 miles away southwest corner of the island.

We just got back this day from a North Atlantic crossing cruise, (actually we are in Boston) so I did not see your posting until now Jimmy. You, Rosa and David stay safe.
Jimmyt,
Great advise about filling the ballast tank. I keep the boat attached with a ratchet strap to the trailer all of the time. The extra weight though is a good idea.

The storm eye went over or very close to the east of the boat at 3:20 pM. The internet was off before that so no picture.
At home still raining and a bit more windy.
Watching the news it’s been pretty bad in various locations both in the mountain towns and costal areas.
The whole island is without electricity.
No surprise there.
Been tracking the storm and it looks like it went directly over the island.
Good to hear from you Jimmy. Hopefully you are still safe and sound.
Obvious question...how are you posting without electricity and how is your internet still working? Reports say the entire island is without power. Will be a dark night.
Oh..and what is your boat cam setup like. I've got one on my boat connected to a cell phone for the internet.

Rained like crazy last night. Should be over today.
I'm able to use my cell phone hot spot for internet. Gets real slow every now and then.
I made a small solar system four 330 watt solar panels, 2 180 AH Carbon AGM batteries, 1200 watt Victron inverter and connected the fridge and most lights and ceiling fans with a small transfer switch. I use this setup year round to save $ on my electrical bill. People always ask me the same question "Can you use your air conditioner". They run gas generators all day and night and for a week.
And have a Honda 2000 generator to charge those batteries (if there's no sun} or run the washer or a gas dryer. Stove cooktop is gas and the water heater also so the Admiral is quite content.
There are 3 VimTag Wifi cameras and one is powered from the solar system along with the wifi router but when power goes out the internet last about 2 hours. I was just wondering if leaving my cell phone there would work.
No news on the boat will try to call a neighbor to find out.
Nice setup you have there Jimmy. Probably better than most on the island today. Hopefully, power on the island will be restored soon.
I bet the cell system is being taxed by others like you for the internet.
I have a WiFi camera on my boat connected to an old cell phone I don't use as a hotspot charged by solar. Totally off grid there as the boat is 90 miles away I like to see how it's doing after a storm blows past.
