We are in Spain this week, exploring marina options for our post-retirement boat. Lots of talk about the local orcas damaging boats due to the latest fad of snatching rudders.
It occurs to me that our Macs would be well suited to deal with that, with our retractable rudders and daggerboards (or if you are not fast enough, at least easily replaceable parts).
Just made me chuckle.

Re: Orca-Proof Boats
Those Orcas have also been known to act as a team and continually ram boats. They have sank more than one. I don’t want to find out if our thin hulls are Orca proof. I am not replaceable.
I wonder if the Casta Del Sol is far enough away from Gibraltar to not have an Orcinus orca problem.

These orcas are active in Spain's and Portugal's Atlantic coast and the Gibraltar Straits. If you are looking for a marina in Mediterranean Spain, the Balearic or the Canary islands, you don't need to worry about them.

I can definitely imagine one of us, a member of this forum, going out and trying this out.
HERE Orca Orca Orca, meet my boat
