Nice. Got any AFFORDABLE suggestions?
On a tight budget.
I'm not trying to be snarky, but if you cannot afford a $60 radio, you probably have no business going to the Bahamas. Please read my posts in this topic. All of the information that you need is there.
Folks, when you post a URL, you should first click the 'link' button in the bar above your post entry field, and then paste your link in between the URL codes. Alternatively, you can paste your link, highlight it, then click the 'link' button to add the necessary codes. This ensures you'll be posting a usable link.
Just get a Baofeng and program in a few weather channels in your location.
Mine was under $50cnd
I have loads programmed into it.
(using their s/w tool)
I will check at home for the exact model.
But it covers all freq's in the marine band.. and many others.
It was about $50-$60 Canadian pesos..
To program it all and set up menus you need the software (free usually included)
And a programming cable.

These radios will not do HF, or SSB, they are strickly VHF/UHF low powered hand helds and only transmit and receive FM. Your VHF marine radio already covers the VHF weather channels. You do have a VHF marine radio?
