26X Trailer Repair

Post by apx2 »

Greetings everyone. I have a 2002 Mac 26x with OEM trailer. I plan on replacing the axle U-bolts wondered if anyone could share a link to where it can be ordered as a kit (bolts and bracket). The ones on my trailer are about 7 inches long. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Trailer axle parts are relatively standard. You should be able to get identical u-bolts from anyone who sells or services trailers. My local Ace Hardware even carries them.

I bought my disk brake kit from https://www.trailerpartsdepot.com/. I see they offer a lot of U-bolts. I'm sure you can find what you need.

They are a great source; I've used them on occasion. You run into a problem though if you don't have a big enough order to qualify for free shipping. He's looking for around $5 in parts and the shipping will be around $17. My local hardware store is not know for good prices but I can pick up the same parts for about half that price.

I also suggest Tractor Supply. They have a surprisingly good selection of trailer parts and supplies. Take your old U-bolt with you to ensure a good fit.

(I should note that for some reason I can’t say “u-bolt” without wanting to call it “das bolt”. :D )

Thanks, was having trouble sourcing that length online, nothing on Amazon or etrailers.com if you can believe that... but looks like trailerpartsdepot.com may have them.

Cheers,

Alan
