1st day out of the water. I put quick disconnect pins on the forestay hounds and the spreader bases. I like to pull my furler and spreaders when I trail the boat. Also these are 5/16" vs. the stock bolts at 3/16th. Last year the hound bolt was fine. This year it was worn 1/4 of the way through.

SCott - I dont want to be an alarmist but those quick disconnects could easily foul a line which might pull them off, with interesting results...especially for the hound....do you disconnect these for trailering or is there another reason for quick connects there??

Cat and they, I just put them on today. I agree with the concern regarding the one on the hounds. The ones on the spreaders will stay but Im gonna go with a 3/8 pin and ringding on the hound.

I raised the mast today and was experimenting sidewards pull created by the jib on the forestay. I dont think it would pull the safety but murphy's law will apply on my boat.
