Winter starage in the NE

Post by joe povey »

Have had Our Tern, 2001, Mac26X for three years now. And each year have stored it on the trailer, but did topsides different each year.

First year wrapped up in tons of drop cloths. Inside mildewed. I'm new at this folks! Next year just the front and cockpit and partial cabin top.

Have observed other folks who did nothing.

This year did nothing, but disconnect batteries, the gas thing, and electrics, bins and clothes. Will maintain battery charge every 4 weeks.

Besides wanting no water to enter the cabin, I thought full cover would protect the exterior gelcoat. well it still got dull, et al. Actually can't see any difference in gelcoat in boats in my marina no matter what they did, from commercial heat shrink to zippo.

Even left mast up, well why not? Lots of mast's up am in the middle.

Any advice?

Cheers!

Don't understand that. These methods have worked for me.
