I don't know if this was posted yet, but I just caught this Wiki, and thought you gents/ladies may be interested in this perhaps?

I was thinking of putting a wiki on this website as a way to collect general knowledge about Macs. I think that there might be ways that it could compliment the discussion board. Any thoughts?

Heath,

I think adding a wiki to this site is basically a great idea. Basic information and history subjects would be a natural. Subjects that have been discussed in many threads on this board could be summarized for easy reference and include opposing opinions or optional approaches to issues. This would be an excellent first stop for new members like me to get a quick overview of subjects that have been discussed many times on this board.

There is one concern. As you probably know, in generating articles for a wiki like Wickapedia, there are discussions behind the articles that debate subjects and content that should or not be included in the article. My concern is that these discussions may dilute or replace the discussions on the main board. One of the compelling features of this board is the ease of finding current discussions. If a wiki was added I would suggest that these discussions be presented in the same manner as the current board, (possibly under a additional area of discussion), or the wiki be configured to allow browsers to find current discussions easily.

Thanks for all your hard work.

And wiki wiki means very fast.

A wiki is simply a user edited encyclopedia.

Try this link. The page (and site) was created on a wiki.

Heath, as an actual wiki within the site would possibly be a good resource for all of us, the evolution of what this board has become is incredible, to say the least! An addition of a wiki is but another dimension that could enhance it even further I feel!

What I do suggest, with your permission of course, is a simple link to here threaded into the existing wiki, as of right now I see only two real Mac links at the bottom of that page. If someone is knowledgable enough to build it into a hyperlink on the existing page and/or have it as a hyperlinked resource at the bottom, it would be most excellent.

I must say, that seems to be beyond the scope of talent that I possess, but you or someone on the board can finesse it on the existing one I am sure!

My thoughts anyway.

surprized no one mentioned the blue thing. . . must be the first time the word 'fast' wasn't tied with 'blue'

But I guess I just ruined that, sorry.
