Trailer Hitch Backup Camera

Post by Tahoe Jack »

Been watching for a practical camera to help me solo-align my tow ball and boat trailer hitch. Costco is currently carrying a neat solution. The color monitor and camera cost $90US. I just posted a mod showing the stuff in use. Check it out. 8) Jack

I saw one at the store the other day and was wondering if it would work for seeing with the Genny up. Just a thought I always hate not able to see around the head sail on a busy day.

I saw a combo unit the other day when at a truck custom shop to get a tri fold cover for the bed.

It is an 8 inch screen with GPS navigation like a streetpilot, plus a backup camera , plus plats DVDs, plus a few other things. It seemed Kinda expensive though and maybe tempting for someone to break in the vehicle.

I ended up buying a Garmin streetpilot instead. small enough to take on business trips, which is where it is most useful.

I wonder if Sam's also has your bakcup camera? We don't have a Costco near Tulsa.

Check Trailer LIfe or other RV mags for low cost, low tech, easy to install devices to help you line up ball and hitch. I made mine with a wide angle miror bolted to a spring clamp for $5. Works every time for solo hitching if you have a lift gate on your tow vehicle. IF not copy one of the other simple ideas.

Not all, but some Wal-Mart stores carry it for $98.83, at least in my area...

I installed one on my Mom's car and will be installing one on my truck within the week.

Also giving one to my father-in-law for Christmas...

You can also try Wal-Mart online.
