Just loved Chigger! We have 5 dogs - four large breeds that stay home and a small "morky" that is the resident boat dog. She has the implanted "lost dog chip" and her lifejacket has her name, address and phone number on it as well as our daughter's phone number in permanent
waterproof marker....just in case. She loves to sleep on a "rockin" Mac!

Hey Scott...Our dogs 'gotta be related, there're too many similarities. Markings and color are nearly the same. Anyway, tell him his "cousin" says Hi from the Texas coast. :D

Real nice pics :!:

Chigger (named after blue ducks sidekick in lonesome dove) is an anchor baby, born in the USA Blue teacup (large for a teacup)

He's pretty awesome but not as awesome as Rena June, Our 17 y/o mini Dachshund that is blind and deaf. She always went everywhere. Loved sailing and hiking and would jump from the transom and swim out to you. Now she gets out of bed to pee and crap in my kitchen on my hardwood floors and eat then climbs back into the bed.

We dont have the heart to put her down because she isn't in pain and she's one of the kids. We talked about it but decided after all the great years of guarding my kids we owed her that. She used to sit 1/2 way between my front door and wherever my kids were when they were young.

And Chiggy cant hold a candle to Cholo Esteban (named after the grave digger in lonesome dove), "my dog" He's my dog because he never wants to do anything or go anywhere. Mean as a snake, (don't put your hand near his face)he lives in the glove basket in the coat closet. He doesnt like anyone or anything except me.

I always liked the idea of going to sea with my best friend. That’s Bear, a rescue Lab, Border Collie mix. Friendly attentive good all around companion.

We hit the rollers outside the channel. Mate asks, “Is that your stomach?”

“No." I’m worried something is coming apart down in the cabin. Sounds like metal on metal.

Bear is staggering a bit and bends down to dislodge a couple days grub on the sole. He then passes about four cubic feet of gas that’s enough to make your eyebrows curl.

I had an instant impulse to jump ship but steadily wiped the tears from my eyes and came about. Actually, turned around; we hadn’t hoisted the sails yet.

We returned to port without a word between us.

Derigged and stuck Bear in the back part of the cab. Nothing else to do but go home.

Bear, an old and smart dog wouldn’t look at us. Mortified. He knew.

Mate says, “Probably going to rain anyway.”
