Sig Marine Cozy Cabin Propane heater?

Post by Carni Verde »

I'm looking at the options for a heater for my 26m. I've read about the Wallas option as it seems to be the one most preferred. I'm looking at the Sig Marine Propane heater, it seems to have crossed the right t's - shuts down in O2 level gets less than 95% of normal and shuts off if flame goes out. It seems like this should fit the bill.

Any thoughts? Anyone use one of these?

We have a Force 10 1000. don't know if it does the o2 shut down but does if the flame goes out. Also uses no power to run and heats the entire boat rather well with no air movement. We will sometimes throw our little fan on but I prefer the silence. Propane is plumbed in from the anchor locker and can fit two one # cans with rode/anchor/regulator ect. One # can lasts about 8 hours on med-high in -15'c. looks like an old Dickinson diesel heater.

Hey Bob, I have an ultimatum from the Admiral that I have to get some heat into our 26M as I live in the Yukon as well. Been researching the options. Would love to put in a Wallas but at $3,000 (ouch!) it's out of my budget for this year. Would love to see how you installed your propane unit. Got any pictures?
