Yesterday I started a thread thanking those who provide informative and useful mod posts, and suggesting there's room for improvement regarding posts that lack a picture and are otherwise not really informative. It was titled, “Thanks,… and No thanks.” Some interesting responses appeared from others, but when I went to check the thread today it seems to have completely disappeared.
I’ve searched for it all the ways I can think of. The automated topic reply notification e-mail I receive about the thread stipulates, “You are not authorized to read this forum.”
Does anybody have any idea what’s going on with this?

Re: Where in the world is...
Could have been removed since it really was not constructive - just appeared that someone was trying to cause trouble and attract attention.
This forum is a fun place where sometimes useful stuff show up. People have a good time and do not need to be lectured.

I side with Cris. I don't consider it lecturing, at all. To me, a good mod post should have enough information so that someone can actually do the mod themselves, with little or no communication with the OP. Check out my mod post for the Echo 300c depth sounder and in-hull transducer on my 26M. I even posted all the part numbers! A mod post with no pictures and just 2 lines of almost coherent sentences serves little value at all.
I'm not saying that everyone should write an instruction manual in a mod post, but just take the time to supply a little bit of detail. Otherwise, what is the point of a mod post? To show others how to do the mod, or to brag about your boat?
I've seen some mods with very little detail, and I PM'd the OP for more information. Guess what, no reply! The OP probably gets so many inquiries.

Re: Where in the world is...
The thread was moved to the front room because it did not belong in the powersailor forum. The powersailor forum is for topics relating to the 26X, 26M and M19 boats. The topic did not relate to sailing, or any of the boats manufactured by Macgregor. Neither did it deal with performance, mods, tuning, trailers, etc, so it was moved to the catch all forum.
