I think the reason nobody is responding is all those numbers fluctuate with conditions IE: into the wind with the wind choppy or smooth sea's ballast in ballast out etc. My Tohatsu 70 uses no more fuel than my Yamaha 40 when the speed is matched of Yamaha 40 WOT about 10 knots like 1.5 gph with ballast in the 70 will easily match that as its a better engine, Now WOT on the 70 is about 18 knots and about 2.5 gph.(this monitoring was done in bad conditions choppy windy day) So basically if your engine runs good and has a proper propeller. YOU can do the math and calculate what kind of performance you will get. Take all your current observations and multiply by 1.4 and that approx. what you can expect with of course some deviation for efficiency of the newer engine etc. Other than that everyone brags (me included) about new engines. Simply search 70hp upgrade and troll the data.

:macm: 2011 Yamaha 70 , 18 mph W/ballast, 20 barely W/O ballast, she will do 22 mph with no sailing gear aboard & no ballast.
