Port Stephens/Nelson Bay this Easter

Post by tom »

Hey All,
We (2 adults, 3 kids) are planning a week long exploration of Port Stephens this coming Easter on our newly purchased :macx: ...I've got a copy of NSW cruising guide (by Alan Lucas) and from what I read it is a fantastic place to go and explore...just wandering if anyone has any opinions on where to launch and leave the car for a few days in reasonable safety...and also any particular spots that some of you may know which are worth a visit and ofcourse if anyone else is thinking of doing similar would be great to meet and greet...I'll make sure we'll take a few pics to share the journey in any case :)

Soldiers Point ramp is a beauty. We've left our car & trailer there for a few nights without any trouble. Fame Cove is a great over-nighter, with 4 (?) public moorings. Beware the shallow bits in the middle of the bay...check your charts. It's a beautiful place.
