There's a fish in my trunk

Post by mdbrown »

My 26S is on the trailer after we pulled it out of the lake last night for the season. This evening I noticed the swing keel wasn't all the way up flush with the bottom of the boat. No problems just 6" low or so. Went out and climbed under. Pushed up in keel and heard something squishy. Figured it was just alge growth until I looked up in there. Guess what. I caught a fish. Stuck between keel and boat. Can't get it out without pullling boat off trailer.

What are the chances???????

That's gonna smell nice in a few days! Can you hit it with a pressure washer? That should break it up and allow you to knock it out.

You might want to block up the bow or stern and use the trailer landing gear to allow the CB to drop a little, to help wash it out.

The lengths some people will go to for a fish, use a fishing rod like the rest of us, I bet when you thought using the keel as a fishing implement you never thought of the side effects :D

It's turned really cold here and the barn cats haven't seemed to notice yet. I'm going to try to knock it out with a rod or something. Not much chance of getting a power washer up in there without making a mess of myself.

I had one too. We pulled the cb for some winter repair, and I said "Look; I caught one fish this year." Anyone can do it with a hook and bait. No challenge that way.

I hope your fishing license was up to date. I can just see explaining it to the game warden.
