Archaic Winch Handles

Post by w0nko »

I'm trying to find a winch handle for my "new" boat. I don't really know how to describe the thing; it's not contemporary. It might be stock on my 1973 V21, but maybe not. The top of the winch has a post sticking out of the center, surrounded by an indented area that is doughnut shaped around the post. The outer edge is cut away in two places directly opposite each other. The handle is presumably build of a doughnut shaped part which fits in the indentation around the center post with the handle coming out of the side of the winch through one of the cut-away areas. I was able to get a picture of the thing up on macgregorowners.com.
Does this type of handle have a name? Can one be got anywhere? Please use
