Refit.

Post by Jonair222 »

Must have been low on polyester when they build these boats in 80's. No worrys break out a prybar.

If you think about making a Venture a serious sailboat, one that can hold power and sail and plow waves..
START here:
Image
pop that rail.
wrench it drill it hammer it

Image
Do we see a problem here? somebody tried to put some sealer under the rail, and a little when it was screwed together- but there is a big air gap between the top and bottom halves of her hull shells! air and water can slip right into her beltline seam! Causing corrosion, large tolerance causing flexion fractures.

Image
Furthermore, under those big swaths of white inner liner is completely hollow! boom bang creak crawk.
No biggies, lets see what that prybar does now;

Aha!
now we start collecting our cans of greatfoam and bathtub resin because we are (eventually) going to make this three piece suit a unibody boys and girls!

Stay tubed.

Keeps them from dinging when at anchor or anytime the boat is rocking...

Otherwise your mast sounds like a wind chime.

What a great idea to quiet the ding dongs!!!!
Who ever thought up the zip-tie whips was brilliant!
Simple, cheap and effective!

We are planning on adding a pair of spreader bar lights before raising the mast for the spring season.
We are really glad to know this now rather than later.
Thank You!!!

You'll find the existing mast wiring has this mod. Good idea on the spreader lights!
