Macgregor 22 - Bilge Pump Discharge Location

I've installed a bilge pump in the battery compartment storage under the forward seat in the cabin. Before I start drilling holes for the discharge I would like some insight and/or best practices.

Do I run the discharge hose after, under the aft dining seat, into the after storage area then up to the transom and out?
Do I compromise the starboard side of the boat?

I would REALLY appreciate some thoughts, and photos if possible, on this issue.

If your boat is like ours, it has a self-bailing cockpit. Discharge above the cockpit floor and you won't have to put additional holes in the outer hull.
