Lake Champlain Vermont Boat Launch Ramps, Vehicle w/ trailer parking and Marina Recommendations

Hi!

We have an opportunity to visit Lake Champlain this mid-August (2021) on the Vermont side near Burlington.

We would really appreciate any recommendations for a good boat launch ramp that isn’t too steep.
We would also appreciate any recommendations on a good marina and where we could park our tow vehicle and trailer for a week or so.

I don't know of the ramps on the Vermont side, but if you want to start up near our place in Rouses Point, the ramp at the Great Chazy River near Kings Bay is quite gentle and easy to navigate. The bridge over Champlain is just north of there, so it's easy to get from VT to NY. Our marina (Barcomb's Marina in Rouses Point) is a very nice marina and has petrol, a pub, bathrooms and a small parts shop. It's also walking distance to the town. They rent slips by the day, week or whatever and the prices are competitive.

As for other ramps, there is of course the public one in Burlington, but again, I don't know how steep it is. I don't know anything at all about marinas in Burlington - sorry!

We will very likely be at our lake house (at the tip of Point Au Fer) in August, and we'll also have our Mac up there this year (a first!). We'd enjoy meeting you, if you get up our way.

I highly recommend the Mallets Bay boat ramp in Colchester. It is a wide and easy slope and has an ample parking and setup area. Set up in the parking area above the ramp and tow mast up to the ramp. We used this ramp many times over the years for our Lake Champlain excursions when we owned Over Easy. We had no problems parking there for up to a week, but best to check with Vermont Fish & Game Dept. for current rules. There is a marina next door to the ramp but we've not done business there.

If you can, plan a stay at Basin Harbour in Vergennes. It's a full service marina and country club that is absolutely amazing. Golf, pool, cycling, hiking, beach, restaurants, and a maritime museum. Absolutely stunning place to spend a few days.

Thank you for some excellent suggestions!

The boat launch looks great with generous parking.
We will contact the VT Fish and Game to check on current parking duration requirements.
This is a very good suggestion.
Having a fuel dock nearby is a real plus as we travel with the fuel tanks empty (as situations allow).
A gentle ramp is also a priority as we don’t want to slip and slide our way into one of those YouTube videos

The resort sound fantastic!
The website and google maps show a very nicely arranged place that looks like a great place.
We will have to check it out in person at the very least.

Due to getting some other tasks out of the way, current schedule is looking like getting to Lake Champlain the last full week of August right now. This should be a good time for weather and before the Labor Day crowds.
