Three day trip on Kissimmee River in Central Florida

Post by ris »

There were two couples one slept in the V-berth and one couple slept in the cockpit. We have 3 inch firm foam in the cockpit. We also put a 1/2 inch board that fills the space from the captains or drivers seat to the pedestal and rests on the bench on each side of the cockpit. We have two cushions that fill this area from the back of the drivers seat to the pedestal. This allows a greater width for sleeping in the shoulder area. I also set my 12 volt cpap machine on these cushions between the seats and plug it into a 12 volt outlet on the console. We would cook on shore and have an evening fire on shore also then sleep on the boat. The folks with us are from upstate NY. They wanted to see alligators so we took them to the Kissimmee River to see some. One place we stopped for lunch and counted 12 gators from where we anchored for lunch. Three of them were over 9 feet. Here are pics of two of our camping areas. We had a great time.

the Jill Kristy sails again! Sounds like a wonderful trip. Did you dine on any of the local "gator" cuisine?

They are impressive creatures!

You guys are always out and about! :) :)
(Currently up north here in NH our water assets are slightly less “liquid”. :D :D
