a/c start up surge

Post by msshene »

I think I remember a thread a bit ago about someone using an inverter with a generator to get the a/c compressor running and then turning off the inverter. Anyone have any details? I can't seem to find it under search.

Many people say air conditioning is almost mandatory if you are in a slip most of the time in a hot area (e.g. Florida). But that it is much more optional if you are anchored out most of the time.

Some people can tolerate the heat and humidity (genetics, willpower, etc) and others just can't.

Some pets may adapt to the heat and humidity by reducing the thickness of their fur.

Having an air conditioner means you will have to have a generator or shore power.

On a very hot day, occasionally throw some water on the deck to keep it (and the interior of the boat) cooler.

Thanks TT. The home AC unit is an idea to think about. I wonder if they ever have problems with the AC unit "walking" while it is running?

Trying to get a hold on the Runner? I could only find a “Line Drawn” to prevent a “Runner from Walking”!
