Lazy jacks
- Boat Type: Boat Type
I have store-bought lazy jacks. I didn't want to have to take them off every time I stepped the mast (which, admittedly, only occurs twice a year) so what I did was make the D-straps on the underside of the boom detachable.
Now, I can undo the D-straps and move the lazy jack ends to the mast, where I attach them with a bungie. I don't have to do anything else to the jacks; they stay attached at the top and are lashed to the mast and out of the way, allowing me to remove the boom without obstruction.
