Delevi, thx for getting those pics back up. Very useful as I'm looking to do a similar project. Quick question. 3rd pic from the top, you have a double block mounted near the base of the mast and I see the lines are heading very different directions. Does that cause any issues (binding ect as the bl...

Frank C, would you happen to have a picture of your deck organizers? My initial thought was to use cheek blocks to turn the lines aft, but on the starboard side I'll have three lines (main halyard, centerboard line, and one reefing line) so I didn't think that would work. Next I thought about a deck...

You can get it here (http://www.newglass2.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi). It certainly isn't sold in stores here.

OK, so I think I'll go with 4 of these for the base of the mast: http://mauriprosailing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=HAR023&Category_Code= Then use these for the stanchion base to turn the lines http://mauriprosailing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_...

Cheers!

First mod - would like some validation :-)

Hi all, I think I'm about ready for my first set of mods. I plan to add a two line reefing system, a "down haul" for the main, and run all those lines (4) aft. I was hoping to post links to the hardware I was planning to use, but even though I seem to meet at requirements now I still canno...

Actually I didn't ask how he still liked it, however he said a bottle lasts a year or two and now he just orders a couple at a time to make sure he always has it. So as he still uses it, I can only assume he is happy (at least I hope so as I placed my order last night) :P

As follow up in case anyone else is interested, I sent Erik Hardtle a private message on this topic and he said a complete 4 coat application uses about 1/3 of the bottle. So 1 bottle lasts 1 or two years depending how often you reapply.

Cheers!

But...if it what you want to do...go for it. You will always find people that will be quick to tell you what you can't do and why....sure listen to some of their advise...but only YOU know what you needs/wants are! Agreed, didn't mean to be one of those people :) I had people suggesting I not get a...

OK, I love my new Mac. It is absolutely perfect for me and have nothing but good things to say about it. That said.... using it as a live-aboard? Are you crazy?!?! Others may disagree, but I just cannot imagine more than a couple weeks for a cruise. Live-aboard? Not a chance! It is amazing at...

NewGlass2 - how much do I need?

Been reading here about NewGlass2. Sounds really good and would like to give it a shot. I'm just not sure how much I'll need. Assume I want to do the entire boat above the waterline with 4 coats, would one bottle do it? If not how many bottles for say one complete application of 4 coats? Cheers! Tony

Thx for all the info so far! Perhaps this should be a separate thread, but when considering a reefing system (led aft) I've been reading a two line system is probably easier to use and tightens the main better and would go with that. However, all my reading and looking at diagrams only deals with a ...

Catigale, thx for posting that! Main isn't currently led aft. The red line I think you are talking about is actually the line to raise/lower the centerboard. BTW, thx for the tip on deck organizer. With all the "funny" terminology I've been having to learn as I begin sailing who ever would...

How would you rig your Mac?

I'm a new Mac 26M owner (in fact my first sailboat of any type) and I have a bunch of ideas for changing my running rigging, but would love any insight from some more experienced owners. Lots of question, please bear with me :P Was wanting to point to a diagram of my current rigging here, but cannot...
