Favorite sailing picture

I took this several years ago, while sitting on the balcony of my hotel room in Maui. It's still my favorite shot of all time.

Have any favorite pics you've taken over your the years :?: I'd love to see them :)

This one is hardly a work of art, but it takes me back every time I look at it. It's the lagoon at Cobourg Municipal Marina in Ontario, just before sunrise. I could have sat there all day enjoying the ambience. Still air, quiet, nobody else awake, a hot cuppa perked joe in my hand. My crew fast asleep below decks from a night out (high school graduation trip across the lake for my son and three of his friends). I guess you had to be there.

And I haven't been able to get back there since, which was about 5 years ago.

Nicest marina I've ever been to, though I'd have preferred to spend the night in the lagoon, on the hook.

81venture,

Did I say before that I love the way your '23 turned out :?: If not, I meant to

I was out cleaning the inside of "Three Sheets" yesterday and while doing so, I was thinking (as we all do) of all the cool stuff I could do to the boat in the future. Seeing the pic of your '81 really makes me want to re-do my D. Perhaps this coming year, some of it will happen, now that my truck is payed off.

Tom,

I got ya. I'm also one of those early risers, when out sailing. Everyone still asleep...... first you're looking at the stars, then the Sun starts creeping up................ And what makes the coffee taste so much better out there :?: :?: :?:

I love those quiet mornings :D

I am picturing it, and I wish I could be there. I've never been to Hawaii, but it's on my bucket list. Chopper Pilot's pics ain't helping, either. :D

Oh, and that's my previous boat in the second pic, third from the left.

Steve K,
I tried to view your picture with my i-Pod, but couldn't :( Waited all day until I finally was home so I could see it on my lap top. Worth the wait. Next time post on Photobuckett :P That I can view on my i-Pod :D

As of now this is one of my favourites. My mother and step father had just traded their 54ft custom cruiser for a 33ft C&C, and never had been sailing, they decided to come and try it out. The weather couldn't have been better to learn in. Two weeks later they took their new boat 450 miles from Kitimat BC to Saltry Bay BC. They are envious of the outboard speeds as their 4cyl Kubotas cruising speed is 4kt :P

Great shot Starscream - I've wondered if Baskatong was a good place to sail. I'm just a few hours away and would like to take my kids there perhaps next year,
