Correct Mast Raising Stay Design MRS

The 26M raising stays are not connected to the mast. This is easily rectified by connecting the stays at the mast raising bail. The problem is, the stanchion connection is not in line with the hinge pin at the mast step bracket. In this mod, I relocated the stanchion connection loop to achieve proper alignment. After getting the stay lengths dialed in, I virtually eliminated mast side-play during raising/lowering.

I would encourage you to verify your final location. Not sure how consistently the factory located the stanchions or the mast step brackets.

1. Loop removed
2. Align new location with mast step hinge.
3. Loop welded at new location. Note how much lower and further forward it has moved from the original location.
4. Finished for now with rough clean and polish.
5. New location is 2-3/4" up front brace - measured to upper attachment.
